WEDDING VENUE COST SUMMARY

To assist you in the preparation of your budget, a list of costs that may be involved in having your wedding at The Mudcastle follows.

1. VENUE HIRE

The Mudcastle is able to cater for weddings of up to 100 guests. All prices include GST. 

Up to 24 hours anytime between 12.00 noon - 12.00 noon the following day 

Monday - Thursday $500.00

Friday - Sunday $750.00

Optional availability of one or two suites from 10.00 am* +$200.00.  This option allows the bride (and/or groom) to relax and get ready on site before the ceremony should they wish. (Please note it does not extend to wedding guests checking in then).

* In the event that we have a wedding booked for the day before, earliest possible access would be from 12 noon so that the first wedding is not rushed to leave and we have time to clean and reset. 

Please note that a catering surcharge will apply for weddings on Statutory Holidays or if the required catering prep days fall on Statutory Holidays.

2. VENUE ACCESSORIES

Tables, Chairs, Tableclothing, Serviettes, Crockery, Flatware, Glassware

A flat charge of $12.00 per person incl GST is made for use of this supply and includes all setting up of these items in the Banqueting Turret.

Additional requirements.

Cocktail serviettes. If having finger food after the ceremony or the wedding cake is a fruitcake to be served with tea and coffee after dinner, you may wish to include cocktail serviettes. Costs vary from .20c - .30c per person, depending on the style selected. 
Outdoor seating for ceremony.

If you are having your wedding ceremony on site, hire company alloy chairs suitable for use outside can be ordered, picked up, set up and returned for $5.00 ea including GST.

3. DECORATIONS (optional)

Any decorations you supply yourselves eg. seating plan, placenames are installed by you once the caterers have set the dining room. This is best done either at the time of the rehearsal or, if getting ready at the Mudcastle, on the day when all danger of changes is generally over.

4. BEVERAGES

This is a difficult area to cost accurately as there are a number of variables but, as a guide, previous wedding bar tabs have ranged from $15.00 - $55.00 incl GST per person. We suggest you allocate a figure for budget purposes that you feel is realistic for the guests attending and speak to us about our ideas to manage this aspect for you. We are happy to consider stocking a particular beverage for you but our new responsibilities under the Liquor Act to monitor alcohol consumption mean that, the old practice of BYO (bringing in your own alcohol) is not an option for Fully Licensed venues who value their licences. 5. CATERING                           

As discussed personally with our contracted caterers. Further information and costed sample menus are available on the Wedding Catering page. Self catering is not possible but our caterers are happy to incorporate speciality produce you may have access to eg. crayfish, whitebait, scallops, venison etc.

Once your wedding menu is confirmed with our contracted caterer, a $750.00 catering deposit is payable to The Mudcastle. The catering cost will be included in The Mudcastle invoice for your wedding so that you are not required to make payment to several different suppliers.

6. MUSIC (optional)

Wurlitzer Jukebox hire $250.00 incl GST or NSM Fire Jukebox hire $200.00 incl GST.

Bernstein baby grand piano hire (cost of tuning - approx $120.00 incl GST)

Linedancer unit - a variation on the mirror ball effect with coloured beams of light playing on the dancefloor $30.00 incl GST

Bubble Machine - suitable for ceremony/reception entrance or dance $50.00 incl GST.

7. HONEYMOON NIGHT

 This is our gift to brides and grooms having their wedding receptions at The Mudcastle. Click on Honeymoon or  The Peach Suite, The Rose Suite and The Gold Turret to see which suite you prefer (although we personally recommend either The Peach Suite or The Gold Turret as The Rose Suite is situated in the main body of the castle with all the other guest rooms).

8. GUEST ACCOMMODATION

Option A

A special reduced price of $1500.00 including GST for all guest accommodation (in usual bed configurations) and a substantial breakfast for all overnight guests served in the main turret the following morning.

There is an additional charge of $50.00 including GST for changing either The Pink Room or The Rose Suite to twin beds.

There is an additional single bed which may be added to one of the following rooms if required - The Pink Room, The Rose Suite or The Peach Suite. Cost for this service and breakfast is $90.00 including GST.

Additional guests are able to come for breakfast only @ $30.00 including GST per person provided we have sufficient notice.

It is worth noting that, although the guest accommodation will appear on the overall wedding invoice, guests generally pay for this themselves so this item may or may not need to be included in your budget as you may be reimbursed for it. Additional breakfasts are also usually paid for by the guests concerned.

$1000.00 including GST for all guest accommodation to remain empty.
