Begin your stay at The Mudcastle in the rolling countryside of Upper Moutere and then be accompanied by our staff to a private bach with its own beach in the Marlborough Sounds for a change of scenery and a truly kiwi experience at McLaren Lodge.
Helicopter transfer from The Mudcastle courtyard to the front lawn of the bach is available.
Outdoor activities (depending on season) :
- walking, fishing, scalloping, water skiing, swimming, beach BBQ
We've even organized a truly intimate wedding ceremony on the white sandy beach of one of the tiny islands in the bay with a friendly kiwi celebrant, a superb luncheon of freshly caught fish served in a silk lined gazebo on the beach and a barefoot couple exchanging their vows beneath a cloudless sky in front of their closest friends.
Indoor activities :
- table tennis, darts, cards, board games, jigsaws, books, Sky TV, music, electronic organ. Cooking lessons by arrangement.
Enjoy freshly smoked mussels straight from the sea as you take in the sweeping panorama of Squally Cove and revel in the knowledge that this wonderfully comfortable bach runs ingeniously without electricity from the main grid.
